István Szilágyi obtained his PhD in chemistry at the University of Szeged in 2006. After holding postdoctoral positions in Australia and Switzerland, he was appointed as senior lecturer at the University of Geneva in 2009. He was one of the recipients of the Lendület grant of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 2017, therefore, he moved to the University of Szeged, where he is an Associate Professor and Leader of the Biocolloids Research Group. His research focuses on synthesis,
characterization and application of novel hybrid materials composed of inorganic nanoparticles, biocatalysts and polymers.

Tibor Halmágyi obtained his BSc in 2018 and his MSc in 2020 in chemistry at the University of Szeged.
He performed his PhD research at the University of Pau and the Adour Region from 2020 to 2023 in
the field of polymer chemistry. He was subsequently granted a postdoctoral position at the
Biocolloids Research Group, where he develops colloidal zeolite-based materials with enzyme-like
activities.

Dr. Laila Noureen did her masters in Inorganic Chemistry from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad in 2015 and did her PhD in Inorganic Chemistry from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China in 2021. After that she joined Peking University, Shenzhen Graduate School as postdoc researcher in 2021. In 2023, she joined Biocolloids Research Group at University of Szeged where she will continue working on the synthesis of Metal-Organic Frameworks with antioxidant potential.

Adél Szerlauth obtained her BSc in 2018 as molecular bionics engineer and her MSc as chemist in 2020 at the University of Szeged. She started her PhD studies in September 2020 at the Biocolloids Research Group. Her research is concerned with the synthesis and stabilization of nanocomposites with antioxidant activity.

Dóra Takács obtained her BSc in 2018 and her MSc in June 2020 in chemistry at the University of Szeged. She started her PhD studies in September 2020 at the Biocolloids Research Group. Her research is concerned with development of nanocomposites and to study their colloidal properties in ionic liquid media.

Katalin Bere obtained her BSc in 2019 and her MSc in June 2021 in chemistry at the University of Szeged. She started her PhD studies in September 2021 at the Biocolloids Research Group. Her research is concerned with the nanoplastics and elimination of these toxicant materials from the environment.

Zsófia Vargáné Árok obtained her MSc as a clinical chemist at the University of Szeged. With the grant of TÁMOP scholarship, she investigated the analytical possibilities of new psychoactive drugs from biological samples at the Institute of Forensic Medicine, University of Szeged. Afterwards, she was employed as a technical assistant by the Biocolloids Research Group, where she started her PhD studies in September 2021. Her field of scientific interest is applicability of ionic liquids and biopolymers in chemical enhanced oil recovery techniques.
