Education

Department of Applied and Environmental Chemistry

Our nanotechnology related courses are: "Nanotechnology (Dékány-Kiricsi), Graphite fibers and carbon nanotubes", "Nanotechnology and materials science lab", "Fundamentals of microscopy". We were responsible for achieving the goals of the 2.5 subproject of KNRET (Nanotechnology related education). Besides the normal classes, our staff is regulary involved in the following nanotechnology related educational tasks:

  • User training for the Electron Microscopy lab of the Faculty of Sciences,
  • Nanotechnology for high school students (in cooperation with the Miklós Radnóti High School of Szeged),
  • Organizing the SIWAN "Szeged International Workshop on Advances in Nanoscience" conference series (4th time in 2008).

Currently active nanotechnology related BSc and MSc thesis possibilities: XXX actual version will be inserted when the homepage is running.

Department of Organic Chemistry

Courses

Organometallic chemistry (lecture)
Stereochemistry and Catalysis (lecture in English)

diploma works

Structural investigation of low-loaded palladium montmorillonite catalysts and applications in liquid-phase alkyne hydrogenations (2003)
Synthesis of Pd nanoparticles in graphite oxide, catalytic applications (2008)

project works

Structural characterization of Pd-MCM-41 catalysts and their investigation in liquid-phase hydrogenations (2005)
Structural and catalytic investigation of Pd-graphite oxide (2007)

Institute of Physical Chemistry

The results are gradually incorporated into the courses given for chemistry and invironmental science Bsc and Msc students. The field gives topic to Phd and diploma works. The number of PhD and undergraduate/graduate students involved are 3 and 5, respectively.

Institute of Solid State and Radiochemistry

X-ray photoelectron spectroscopic and low energy ion scattering measurements are parts of the daily routine measurements. The principles of the measurements and the measuring techniques themselves are taught on different courses. The instruments are available to carry out measuring tasks for project and diploma works as well as for PhD students.
