Gábor Galbács  2024 | University of Szeged People and infrastructure Ours is a research group of people with a mixed scientific background. The majority of the members have an analytical chemistry background, but we also have associated physicist members from the area of optics and optoelectronics. Some of our cooperating research partners are experts in biology, earth sciences or synthetic chemistry. This flexible combination of expertise is very useful when analytical problems related to spectroscopy, plasma research or laser-material interaction need to be tackled. We operate many modern, commercial or self-developed instruments in our laboratories. read more Introduction Our laser and plasma spectroscopy research group (GLPS), led by Gábor Galbács, has been being active since the mid-1990s. The group is continuously involved in a number of diverse analytical spectroscopy research projects mainly concerning inductively coupled plasma optical emission and mass spectrometry (ICP-OES, ICP-MS), laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS), diode laser analytical atomic spectroscopy, optochemical sensor development, and nanoparticle generation by electrical discharges. Our research projects are diverse, but always related to analytical spectroscopy. Integral part of our activities are the R&D projects carried out under contracts from industrial partners and other institutions - the topic of such projects is mainly method or instrumentation development. read more Current projects and results Laser and plasma spectroscopy research group Department of Molecular and Analytical Chemistry, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Informatics, University of Szeged, Hungary Home Home People & infrastructure People & infrastructure Projects Projects Contact Contact
