FLOW-DRIVEN SELF-ORGANIZATION
The formation of spatiotemporal patterns like precipitate structures is possible by utilizing external flow.
The presence of a concentration gradient maintained by the flow may lead to the enrichment of the thermodynamically unstable crystalline form or may be used to select the required polymorph which is essential for the pharmaceutical and building industry.
Our aim is to characterize the evolving sturctures and to study the interaction between convection and chemical reactions by analyzing the structure of the crystals and membranes formed.
