Course description:
The absorption and emission of light,
the conditions of amplification. Line band width, saturation features.
Matrix optics, geometric description of resonators. Wave theory of resonators,
Gaussian beams. The rate equation model of lasers. Gasous lasers. Dye lasers.
Solid state lasers. Generation and measurement of ultrashort laser pulses.
The industrial application of lasers. Medical-biological application of
lasers.
