Course description:
Linear network. Ideal generators.
Thevenin's and Norton's theorems. Two pole pairs. Determination of the
parameters. Coupling of two pole pairs. Input and output impedance. Voltage
and current transfer coefficient. Fourrier and Laplace transforms. Impedances.
Normalisation of transfer function. Pole-zero analysis. Bode plot, phase
shift. First and second order filters. Properties of resistors, inductors,
capacitors. The transformer. Diodes: rectifier, switching, capacitor, Zener,
light emitting and photo diodes. The bipolar transistor: basic properties,
theoretical models, high frequency and switching behaviour. Maximum ratings.
Basic amplifier circuits with transistors. The JFET and the MOSFET: structure
and properties. Simple circuits with FET's. The operational amplifier.
Inverting and non-inverting amplifier circuits. Properties of op.amps.
The most important logical families. Structures and properties.
