Course description:
Linear network. Ideal generators.
Thevenin's and Norton's theorems. Fourier transforms. Impedances. Normalisation
of transfer function. Pole-zero analysis. Bode plot, phase shift. First
and second order filters. Properties of the resistors, inductors, capacitors.
The transformer. Diodes: rectifier, switching, capacitor, Zener, light
emitting and photo diodes. The bipolar transistor: basic properties. Maximum
ratings. Basic amplifier circuits with transistors. The JFET and the MOSFET:
structure and properties. Simple circuits with FET's. The operational amplifier.
Inverting and non-inverting amplifier circuits. Properties of operational
amplifiers. Linear amplifiers. Nonlinear amplifiers, function generators.
Comparators. Signal generators. Saving the input and the output of the
amplifiers. Principles of measuring circuits. The radio and the television.
