Course description:
Electrodynamics of continuous media.
The Lorentz method of averaging microscopic fields. Polarisation charge,
polarisation current, magnetic current. Maxwell equations in continuous
media. Electrostatics of metals and insulators. Phenomenological description
of superconductivity. Wave equations in dielectrics and metals. Dispersive
materials, Kramers-Kronig analysis. Electromagnetic waves in anisotropic
media, optics of crystal.
