Course description:
The electric charge. The electric
field strength and the electric potential. Electrostatics of conductors.
Electrostatic field in dielectrrics, molecular explanation of polarisation
. The stationary electric current, Resistance, Ohm's law. DC circuits Magnetic
field in vacuum, the magnetic induction vector, the Lorentz force. Motion
of charged particles in electric and magnetic fields The magnetic field
of currents. Magnetic field in matter, M and H vectors, molecular currents.
Electromagnetic induction. Generation and properties of alternating currents,
AC circuits, complex impedance, the transformator. Electromagnetic oscillations.
Displacement current, Maxwell's equations. Electric conduction in gases
liquids and solids. Contact and thermoelectric phenomena. Electric current
in solids, liquids and in gases. Semiconductors, simple electronic devices.
Electromagnetic waves.
