Course description:
The role of measurements in sciences.
Fundamental concepts of measurement theory. Measurements in physics, units,
systems of units. Physical constants. Random and systematic errors. The
presentation of measurement results, statistical characteristics, confidence
level. Error propagation. Parameter estimation, linearization. Sensors,
transducers, analog signal processing. Basics of digital measurements,
A/D and D/A conversion. Sampled data systems, sampling theorem, spectral
analysis. Application of A/D and D/A converters. Digital signal processing
methods. Digital measurements of correlation.
